Description
Elnothington Cottages are two cottages built in the early 19th century. The ground floor is made of painted brick, while the first floor is pebble-dashed. The gable ends are weatherboarded on the first floor, and the cottages have a plain tile roof. They are double depth and stand two storeys tall on a rendered plinth. A finely dentilled wooden eaves cornice adds detail, and the hipped roof features hips that return. There is a central brick ridge stack. The front has a regular arrangement of two windows, each with 16-pane sashes in open boxes, positioned one on either side of the stack. To the left end, there is a half-glazed door in an open timber porch, and to the right, there is a half-glazed door in a 20th-century single-storey brick extension at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included for their group value.
