Description

This house row dates from the late 17th or 18th century, with alterations made in the late 18th or early 19th century. The right-hand section has a painted brick ground floor and a first floor clad in painted mathematical tiles. The left-hand section is painted brick, with the first floor tile-hung on the gable end. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features a central brick ridge stack and a projecting gable end stack to the right. The building has two storeys and a garret, and a cellar to the right-hand section. The front has a rendered plinth to the right and stone to the left, with a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The roof is half-hipped. The fenestration is irregular, with four windows in total: two 12-pane sash windows in open boxes to the left section, and two 3-light casements to the right section. A half-glazed door leads to No. 22, centrally positioned on the left section, featuring fluted pilasters and a flat hood, approached by three steps. A shallow 20th-century half-glazed porch serves No. 20, located at the right gable end. Rear additions are present. The interior has not been inspected.
