Description

Coachmans Cottage is a house row located on Eyhorne Street in Hollingbourne. The right section of the building likely dates from the 17th century or earlier, featuring an early 19th-century facade, while the left section is from the early 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, and the first floor is tile-hung, topped with a plain tile roof. The right section has two storeys, while the left section has two storeys and an attic, all resting on a stone plinth. The ridge, eaves, and midrail of the right section are lower. The roof is hipped to the right, with the hip returning. There is a brick gable end stack on the left and a multiple brick stack at the left end of the right section. A hipped dormer is present on the left section. The front features a regular arrangement of two windows with three-light leaded casements on the left section, and irregular fenestration with one three-light and one two-light leaded casement on the right section. The central panelled door leads to Coachmans Cottage, while a ribbed door under the stack leads to No. 3, both accessed by two steps. There is a rear lean-to on the left section and a short rear return wing on the right. The interior has not been inspected. The building was formerly known as Eyhorne Cottages.
