Description
Lower Dean's Farm Cottages is a house row that likely dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building is probably timber-framed, featuring a ground floor made of red brick in Flemish bond arranged in four patches, and a first floor that is tile-hung. It has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys tall, with a continuous jetty and a boxed wood eaves cornice. The roof is hipped and there are three brick ridge stacks: one at the center and one towards each end. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of four 20th-century three-light metal casements. There are boarded doors located under a simple open lean-to roof covered with plain tiles, with one door for no. 1 on the right of center and another for no. 2 on the left of center. The rear lean-to is partially weather-boarded and partially made of red brick in Flemish bond. The interior has not been inspected.
