Description
30 West Street is a house built in 1775, constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a plain tile roof. The rear wall is roughly aligned with the front wall of the adjacent house on the right. It stands two storeys high on a stone plinth, featuring a plat band in English bond and a painted coved eaves cornice. The roof is half-hipped to the right, and there is a central brick ridge stack. The front has a regular arrangement of two recessed glazing-bar sash windows, with the ground floor windows displaying slightly splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. A central 20th-century panelled door is accessed by five steps and is topped by a flat hood supported by fluted scrolled brackets. To the right of the door, there are two red brick buttresses at the base of the ground floor. The house has a short rear wing, and the right half is now connected to the adjacent house. The stack is dated 1775. The interior has not been inspected.
