Description
Nos. 6 and 8 West Street is a house, now a row of houses, dating from the 17th century, with the right end rebuilt in the early 19th century. The ground floor is finished in painted brick, while the first floor is weather boarded, except for the right end bay, which is plastered. The building features a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high on a plinth with a hipped roof. There is a rear brick stack on the left and a projecting stack on the right end. The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting of four in total: one three-light casement at the right end, one single-light, one two-light, and another three-light casement. There is a 20th-century ribbed door for No. 6 to the left of centre and a 19th-century boarded door for No. 8 towards the right end. At the rear, there is a lean-to on the left and a short two-storey rear wing on the right. The interior has only been partly inspected.
