59-65, NEW LONDON ROAD

Nos 59 to 65 on New London Road is a terrace built in 1848, constructed from gault bricks. The building features a parapet with four open bays and circular stone balustrades. It consists of four houses that are three stories high, each with a four-window range of pairs of sashes set in stucco architraves, with six panes each on the ground floor and square windows on the second floor. Shop windows have been inserted in Nos 61 and 65. Two front doors remain, framed in stone with flat hoods supported by consoles. Inside, there are plastered decorative ceilings in the porch recesses. The rear elevation is made of yellow stock brick and includes three round-headed sash windows on the first floor, which have radial and marginal glazing bars. The roofs are low-pitched gambles, covered with slate.
