Description
Nos 56 and 57 on High Street are an early 18th-century building with a brick front elevation that has been painted. The structure is two stories tall with attics and features a four-window range, including two arched and lead-clad dormers. On the first floor, at the southern end, there are two windows that have pairs of six-pane sashes set in concealed boxes beneath gauged brick arches. The eaves cornice is dentilled, and the roof is ridged from north to south and covered with peg tiles. There is one chimney stack located at the south end of the building. The ground floor has modern shop fronts.
