Description
The churchyard gate and porch at the roadside of the Church of St. John the Evangelist date from the mid-19th century. They are made of painted timber and feature a gabled roof covered with peg tiles. The structure consists of two posts that support a painted arched tie beam and knee brackets, which in turn hold up a small gable roof. This roof includes a collar and king post that form a central truss. The gates are framed and boarded, enhanced by curved braces and trefoil piercings, with a central finial created by the elongation of one gate stile. This structure is included for its group value.
