Description

GREAT HENNY TL 83 NE 5/91 Walnut Tree Cottage 16.12.82 - II

Cottage. c.1500. Timber framed and plastered and one storey with attics with half hipped thatched roof. Front has wide eyebrow dormer, C20 leaded light casements and off-centre small pegtile gabled porch. Off-centre ridgeline stack with emphatic copings. Timber framing is exposed on west gable end with glazed infill and small lean-to on rear. Small open hall-house with C16 inserted floor. Interrupted tie beams at both ends and two bay hall with simple collar/rafter roof well soot blackened. Late inserted stack with inglenook fireplace and traces of former timber stack in roofspace.
