Description

Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from around 1600. It is timber framed and plastered, with black weatherboarding extending up to the level of the ground floor windows. The roof is thatched, with two eyebrow dormers on the north side and one on the south side. The cottage is of one storey with attics, and has two small gable end stacks. A lean-to extension constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof is located at the west end. The windows are 19th-century casements with a single horizontal glazing bar. The door has a 20th-century flat hood. The timber framing is of three bays, featuring jowled posts. It may have originally been an open hall.
