Description
This building is a former almshouse dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber frame with plaster and has a gabled roof covered in asbestos slate. The structure is two storeys high and includes an off-centre diagonal shafted ridge line stack, along with another smaller ridge line stack. The windows are a mix of 20th-century two-light casements and horizontal sash windows, all with small panes. The entrance door is off-centre, creating a 'baffle entry' plan with three bays. The well-constructed frame includes jowled posts and braces that interrupt the wall studs, as well as stop-chamfered bridging joists. The roof is supported by side purlins and features halved and bladed scarf joints.
