Description

Barkers is a 17th-century house located in Hatfield Broad Oak. It features a timber frame and is covered in white weatherboarding, topped with a half-hipped peg tile roof. The house has a central square ridge line stack. The front facade includes two 3-light 20th-century casement windows with small panes, positioned above two similar windows, and a central door that is topped by a 19th-century flat hood supported by carved brackets and apex pendants. At the east end, there is a single-storey gabled extension, also white weatherboarded, which has a tall, thin brick stack on the ridge line. The house has a 'baffle entry' plan form and a two-storey timber frame with an integral floor.
