Description
Sparrows is a house dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with exposed joists on the long wall and a jettied front. The building has two storeys and a gabled roof covered with peg tiles. At the east end of the ridge line, there is a concertina type 17th-century red brick stack. The front of the house has 20th-century hardwood framed casements with rectangular leaded lights. This is a typical long-wall jetty house from the mid-16th century, with the service end located at the west, where the timber frame is exposed inside. One original jetty bracket remains, along with two later copies.
