Description
Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped by a gabled roof covered in peg tiles. A large 17th-century chimney stack rises through the east end of the front roof slope, featuring truncated 'concertina' shafts. The front of the cottage has three 19th-century casement windows, each with two lights and a cross pattern of glazing bars, positioned above the entrance door. Additionally, there is one single light window and two 20th-century casement windows with small panes at the front. The rear of the cottage has been extended in the 20th century. The original 17th-century timber framing includes jowled posts and square section floor joists.
