Description

Gentry's Cottage is a 15th-century cottage that features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a half hipped thatched roof and two small ridge line stacks. There is a tall stack located against the front wall. The cottage is primarily one storey, but it has a 20th-century rear extension that includes two gabled dormers on the west face. Originally, it was a small open hall house with a sooted roof and a very complete timber frame. Notably, the west bay has an interrupted tie beam end framing, which is separately framed from the rest of the building.
