4/62 Tyecorner Farmhouse 21.6.62 - II

House. C16. Timber framed and plastered with gabled peg tile roofs. Of one storey and attics and 'L' plan form. The front block has 2 gabled dormers, a gabled porch and off-centre stack with 3 diagonal shafts. Windows are mixture of C19 casement and some timber casements with iron opening lights. The gable ends have bargeboards with open finials. The rear block, at right angles, has peg tile roof of gambrel form and a gabled dormer on the west face. 2 gable end stacks and slate roofed lean-to on south end. Internally, some framing is exposed with one roof truss of the raised collar type with shallow curving braces from its principal rafter. Heavy chamfered floor joists with soffit tenons and diminished haunches and inglenook fireplace. RCHM 9.
