Description
This house, now divided into two dwellings, dates from the mid-17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a gabled roof covered with peg tiles and a long catslide lean-to at the rear. The building has two storeys and originally had a large square ridge line stack positioned centrally, which has since been extended by one bay to the northwest. The front of the house includes 20th-century metal casements and two lean-to porch canopies also covered with peg tiles. Inside, the well-crafted frame is exposed, revealing a typical arrangement of two bays plus a central stack and entry bay. The stack includes back-to-back inglenooks and there are two sets of original stairs, one on each side of the entrance door, leading up to the attics.
