Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located in Lower Houses, Bulmer. It is timber-framed and has been plastered, with a thatched roof that is gabled at the east end and hipped at the west. The cottage features a large gable-end stack and a smaller ridge stack at the head of the hip. There are two eyebrow dormers in the front roof slope, and windows with small panes dating to the 19th century. A porch extension has been added to the west end of the front. Some timber framing is exposed on the rear wall, displaying old red colouring. Inside, there is a significant amount of reused timber and a clasp-purlin roof.
