Description

The Cock and Blackbird Public House is an early 19th-century building located on Bulmer Street. It features a timber frame with ashlar plaster and slate hipped roofs that have deep eaves overhangs. The structure is two storeys high and has an 'L' shaped plan.

The projecting wing has a roadside elevation that includes a double hung sash window with small panes and external shutters, positioned above a canted, flat-roofed bay window made up of double hung sash windows. The recessed block contains two 2-light casements with small panes and shutters, situated above two 3-light casements of a similar style. An early 19th-century doorcase with a cornice is also present. A similar doorcase can be found on the northeast-facing side of the building. There is a simple stack located behind the ridge line. The building is included for its group value.
