Description

Griggs Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 17th-century timber-framed farmhouse located on the north-west side of Bulmer Street, Bulmer. The timber frame is exposed on the front and east side. It has a hipped roof covered in peg tiles, with an off-centre ā€˜L’ shaped ridge stack and two tall stacks on the east flank. The eaves are of coved plaster. The front of the house features a central 20th-century open porch with gabled ends and decorative bargeboards, including cusped heads between the studs. The windows are 20th-century oak leaded light casements. The house is comprised of two large bays and two smaller bays, with long straight braces interrupting the studs. A single-storey lean-to has been added to the south-west end.
