Description
Clapps Farm is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with peg tile roofs. The front block is two storeys high, featuring a gabled roof and a large square chimney stack. At the rear, there is a single storey attic block that creates an 'L' shaped plan, with a gambrel roof and one gabled dormer on the northeast side. The front of the house has two double hung sash windows with small panes, margin glazing bars, and moulded surrounds, positioned above two similar windows and a central doorcase. The doorcase is adorned with a flat hood supported by small brackets, panelled pilasters, and a contemporary door that also includes margin glazing bars.
