Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage that features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a gabled thatched roof and an off-centre small ridge line stack. The windows consist of a mix of old, painted, small-paned casements. The cottage is composed of two bays, with an additional 20th-century extension bay on the east end. It has large jowled posts and corner bracing, including one post with an unusual reversed convex curvature. The layout likely includes an open hall with a combined service and solar bay at the west end.
