Description

Spain End is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of rendered brickwork, with a square plan and two parallel slated hipped roofs with wide, overhanging eaves. A single-storey projecting block is located at the northeast corner. The house features two large red brick stacks, one at each end of the central valley and one on the rear slope. The front elevation has a projecting central section with a double-hung sash window with small panes above a flat-hooded door surround. This surround has reeded pilasters, circular dies over the pilaster heads, and a four-panel door recessed within a deep panelled reveal, all topped by a rectangular fanlight. Double-hung sash windows with contemporary external shutters are located on either side of the central projection. The eaves above the front have flat section consoles.
