Description

The farmbuildings immediately north of Wardens Hall consist of a livestock building, granary, barn, and waggon shed, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. These structures form a 'U' shaped court that faces the main front of Wardens Hall.

To the west, there is a late 18th-century livestock building made of red diapered Flemish bond brickwork, featuring a hipped variegated pantile roof and a mix of flat and segmental arch-topped openings. The south wall has a diamond-shaped arrangement of ventilator holes. At the rear, there is an integral lean-to calf house with high-level ventilation slits and openings at the base of the wall for under-floor ventilation.

The long northern frontage includes an early 19th-century red brick granary hay loft building with a pantile roof and a lean-to on the south side, alongside a long 18th-century barn. The barn also has a pantile roof, two gabled midstreys facing the court, and is clad in black weatherboarding.

To the east, the return block serves as part waggon shed and part workshop or engine shed, constructed of early 19th-century red brick with a hipped peg tile roof. A red brick wall links the ends of the courtyard blocks, enclosing a stock yard. These buildings are included for their group value.
