Description
The outbuilding to the north of Wardens Hall is a coach house and stable, later adapted as part of a forge. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of red Flemish bond brickwork with blue brick diapering. The building is tall and single storey, featuring a hipped peg tile roof with an off-centre ridge line stack, which was formerly symmetrically matched by another stack.
The main east elevation has a slightly projecting centre with a simple entrance door. Flanking this door are two 'Venetian' type windows, each with a semi-circular arched centre and flat shoulders, now fitted with 19th-century replacement casements. There are additional doors at the outer edges of the facade, including one to the north that has a glazed small pane and a rectangular fanlight. Inside, there is a contemporary king-post truss roof and some forge fittings, including bellows. The outbuilding is connected to Wardens Hall by a short length of red brick wall.
