Description
The farm buildings to the north of Torrells Hall are a model group from the mid-19th century, constructed in red Flemish bond brickwork with peg tile roofs. They form a three-sided courtyard layout, with buildings on the north, east, and west sides, and a linking red brick wall on the south side that encloses a stock yard.
On the west side, there is a single-storey block featuring a parapetted south gable with a blind brick roundel. Behind this, a two-storey block has similar detailing, with segmental-headed door and window openings, and a gabled sack hoist gantry on the west face. The roof of this block is covered in corrugated iron, which also covers a pyramidical drying kiln located on the roof.
The east block resembles the lower block on the west side and consists of a series of animal pens. Along the north side, there are two similar cart lodge blocks, with a gateway and piers positioned in the centre.
