Description

Pound House is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a gabled peg tile roof. It stands two storeys high and features large rectangular brick chimney stacks at the gable ends. The front of the house includes a central gabled porch with a peg tile roof added in the 20th century, along with 20th-century leaded light casement windows. The timber frame is largely exposed and showcases straight bracing. There is a 20th-century kitchen extension and a double gabled garage block at the west end. Inside, it is an early example of a 'double pile' plan form beneath one very deep roof.
