Description
Andrews Farmhouse is a house from the mid-16th century, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. It has two storeys and a hipped roof covered with peg tiles. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension added in the 20th century, also featuring a hipped peg tile roof. The front of the house has 20th-century metal casement windows with leaded lights and a flat hooded door surround supported by heavy brackets. There is an off-centre, rebuilt red brick chimney stack. The house consists of four bays and retains its original flooring, divided into two large chambers on each floor, indicating that it may have originally served a non-residential purpose. The structure is heavily framed with steep internal arched braces, and the roof features a simple collared rafter design. Inside, there is an inserted inglenook fireplace, an original solid tread staircase, and a fitted 17th-century cupboard with a door located in the stairwell.
