Description

The Old Workhouse is a house that dates from the 17th or 18th century. It is timber framed and plastered, consisting of one storey with attics. The front features an off-centre, later addition of a large red brick chimney stack with an angled brick cornice, and a lean-to porch with iron casements. The roof is covered with peg tiles and has three gabled dormers with plain bargeboards. The windows are 20th-century casements. Originally, the building had two bays but was later extended and linked to Rose Cottage by an infill bay. The top plate displays halved bladed scarf joints.
