Description

The Clerks Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century and possibly earlier. It is one storey with attics, constructed of timber framing and plaster. The gabled roof is covered with peg tiles and features three large gabled dormers. The front of the cottage has several old cast iron casements with leaded lights, along with a central doorcase that has a pediment, squat brackets, and mutules. At the west end of the front, there are modern garage doors. The rear slope of the roof has two small stacks, and there are 19th and 20th-century lean-to extensions at the back. Some old doors remain inside the cottage.
