Description
White Gates is a mid-19th century house built with Flemish bond red brickwork and features a gabled, low-pitched slate roof. It has a large, off-centre red brick chimney stack with four detached square shafts and a combined head, as well as a smaller stack at the west end. The front of the house includes an off-centre recessed porch with a four-centred arched head and stone impost blocks, leading up to a short flight of steps. There are three canted bay windows with brick plinths, hipped slate roofs, and casements with small panes. Above each bay window, there is a three-light casement with a segmental head and splayed jambs, all surrounded by a fretted bargeboard. A three-course string band marks the first floor level, where a circular plaque featuring a coronet and the initial 'M' is located, along with a separate rectangular plaque inscribed with the date '1860'. This house served as an estate house for the Easton Lodge Estate.
