Description
The barn located southwest of Easton Hall dates back to the 14th century and has undergone later modifications. It features a timber frame with plaster and black weatherboarding on the eastern wall, set over a high brick plinth. The roof is covered with peg tiles and has a half-hipped design, including a gablet and an off-center gabled midstrey on the east side, along with two gabled midstreys and two gabled dormers on the west side. The barn is aisled on both sides, with an arcade supported by numerous ancient posts that have been reused from earlier structures. The northern end wall showcases a complete 'reversed assembly' truss with arched bracing. The roof, dating from the mid-17th century, includes straight wind bracing and side purlins. It also features a variety of scarf joints, including splayed, trait-de-Jupiter, undersquinted abutment, and splayed with bridles types.
