Description
The Church of St Peter and St Paul, now a house, dates from the mid 18th century and later. It features red Flemish bond brickwork and a gabled peg tile roof. The building has a simple rectangular nave with a lower and narrower chancel, which is likely a later addition. At the west end, there is a weatherboarded square bell cupola topped with a leaded square domical roof, a finial, and a weathervane. A 20th-century ventilator finial is located on the mid ridge line. The brickwork displays an irregular diaper pattern of blue headers and has a dentilled eaves cornice. Each flank wall of the nave contains two large semi-circular arched windows with rectangular leaded lights. The west end features a high-mounted stone plaque dated '1754' above a three-light perpendicular style stone window with cinque-foiled lights and a square label. Below this is a segmental-headed west doorway. The east window mirrors the west window with similar perpendicular style lights. The roof is contemporary and includes joggled side purlins and queen posts.
