Description

This is a late 17th and early 18th century cottage located on the south side of Wood Lane in Willingale. It is timber-framed and originally plastered, with a gabled roof covered in peg tiles. A brick and slate lean-to has been added to the rear. A red brick chimney stack rises from the ridge line, and there are two gabled dormers on the west roof slope. The timber frame is visible, featuring simple bracing. A decorative element from an earlier 17th century house - a mutilated half stair newel - is fixed above the original front door opening. 20th-century casement windows are set into the original window openings. The cottage retains a complete three-bay plan. A large, two-storey extension from the 20th century has been built onto the north end.
