Description

Mallard Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage constructed with a timber frame and plastered infill panels. It features a half-hipped thatched roof, with the thatch extending down over a boarded shed. The cottage has two framed bays, one long and one short, and is one and a half storeys high, with a gabled dormer at the eaves and an end stack. On the northeast elevation, the frame is fully exposed and showcases curved braces. The left bay contains a dormer above a 2½-light metal casement window, while the right bay features a 2-light metal casement window next to a 20th-century boarded door, which is sheltered by a pent hood.
