Description
Hop Cottage is a cottage that dates from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick, featuring some timber framing, and has a thatched half-hipped roof with a stack located to the west and another stack off-centre to the east. It is one storey high with an attic, and the roof is designed to sweep up over the attic windows.
On the south front, there is a door with a porch to the right, and to the left are French casements, with two additional windows between them. The first floor has three windows, all of which are casements. There is a later addition to the west that is one storey and has an attic, but it is not of special interest. At the rear of the cottage, there is a six-light diamond mullion timber window to the right of the door, featuring modern diamond pane leaded glazing behind it.
