Description
Charity Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 16th century or earlier. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof that is half hipped at both ends. The cottage has one storey and attics, featuring an eyebrow dormer on the front elevation and an off-centre small red brick ridgeline stack. The front includes a 19th-century gabled, enclosed porch with a pantile roof. The windows are 2-light 19th-century casements with small panes. The building is a 2-bay open hall house that has an inserted 16th-century floor in the hall, an inglenook fireplace, and a later single-storey bay to the south that has now been raised to form a loft.
