Description
Old Roses Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or 18th century. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a peg tile roof that is gabled at the west end and hipped at the east. The building has two storeys, with gabled two-storey extensions at the rear and a continuous lean-to at the back. There is a large off-centre ridgeline stack and a smaller stack against the west gable end.
The south (front) elevation features three grouped double-hung sash windows with square panes and moulded surrounds, positioned above two similar windows and a central early 19th-century doorcase with an open pediment supported by curved brackets. These elements are regularly arranged on the left side of the elevation. To the right, there are three single-light casements with diamond leaded lights on each storey. It is noted that this building was said to have been moved from an adjoining field in the early 19th century.
