Description
Catley Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed and rough rendered, topped with red plain tiled roofs. The farmhouse features external red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides. It has two storeys and a three-window range of 20th-century small paned casements. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century panelled door, which is sheltered by a semi-circular porch supported by two fluted columns and two fluted pilasters. At the rear, there are two wings, one of which has a gambrel roof. Inside, the building has an internal frame with chamfered bridging joists and through bracing to the walls. The farmhouse is prominently located on a main road and forms an attractive group with nearby farm buildings.
