Description

The outbuilding at The Ryes is a stable and coach-house built in 1809 by Robert Lugar. It is constructed from grey gault brick and features a grey slate hipped roof. The building is single-storey with a loft above and has an H-shaped plan. The central section has two coach-house doors set in recesses with segmental arches. Each wing has similar segmental arched recesses, with the left wing also containing a small square window. The sides and rear of the building feature arcades of similar recesses, and it has wide projecting eaves.
