Description
This is an aisled barn dating from around 1600, located approximately 20 metres southwest of Robin Hood Farmhouse. The barn is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, with a roof made of corrugated asbestos. It consists of four bays that are aligned roughly north-south, featuring a midstrey to the west of the second bay from the north. The structure includes jowled posts and arched braces connecting to the arcade plates and tiebeams. The arcade plates and wallplates have face-halved and bladed scarfs. Curved raking shores support the aisles, and the barn has heavy studding. The roof is constructed with clasped purlins and is half-hipped at both ends.
