TL 73 NW TOPPESFIELD 3/7 Thurston's Farmhouse II

House, c.1600 and C18, altered in C19. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 2-bay E-W range with central chimney stack, c.1600. Connected to SW of it, larger C18 range aligned N-S with one axial chimney stack, aspect W. Rear range of one storey with attics, main range of 2 storeys with attics. Half-glazed door in Tudor Revival porch of plastered brickwork, C19. On ground floor one early C20 sash window of 16 lights, on first floor one early C19 sash window of 12 lights. The rear range has chamfered transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops and plain joists, mostly of horizontal section, some replaced joists of vertical section. Interior of larger range not accessible at time of survey.
