Description
Craig's End is a house dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with a thatched roof. The building consists of four bays aligned northeast to southwest, with a southeast aspect. There is an axial chimney stack located one bay from the southwest end and an external chimney stack at the northeast end. A rear extension was added in the 20th century. The house is single storey with attics. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century door in a thatched lean-to porch, one 19th-century casement window, and four 20th-century casement windows. The first floor features four 20th-century casement windows. The roof is gambrel-shaped, with thatch cut back over the central two windows. Some framing is exposed internally, with primary straight bracing in the walls. The axial beams are plain-chamfered with simple stops.
