Description
No. 10 Gracious Street is a cottage dating from around 1700, with renovations and restorations carried out in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame, with a rendered stone front wall that is also rendered. It has a reed thatch roof, with a ridge stack and an end stack. The cottage has a three-bay plan, with the entry located at the low end of the center bay. It is one storey high with an attic and includes three dormers. There are two enlarged window openings and two doorways, which include garage doors, added in the 20th century. Inside, some of the original framing is visible on the first floor, showing short upward bracing from the main post to the tie beam. At least one tie beam and possibly some other timbers have been reused in the structure.
