Description

No. 68 High Street is a cottage from the 18th century that has been altered and restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with plaster rendering and a steeply pitched thatched roof made of reed, which includes a small ridge stack made of gault brick. The cottage has a plan consisting of three bays and a lobby entry, with one storey and an attic. There is one gable dormer and two early 19th-century hung sash windows, each with sixteen panes, located on either side of the doorway, which has a 20th-century door. The right-hand front wall has been partially rebuilt to accommodate the insertion of a garage. The cottage is situated on the edge of the former village green.
