Description
No. 14 Church End is a cottage, likely built around 1700. It features a timber frame, is plaster rendered, and has a long straw thatched roof. The cottage has an original ridge stack and two 19th-century end stacks. It is designed as a single range plan with a lobby entry and consists of one storey with attics. There are two gable dormers and four 20th-century casement windows, which may replace original windows, located on either side of the doorway to the lobby entry. Inside, the cottage showcases late 17th-century timber framing, including a main beam with stop-chamfered detailing in one room. There are abutting inglenook hearths, one of which has been rebuilt, while the other retains its original red and yellow narrow gault bricks.
