Description

This is a late 17th or 18th century cottage, which has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber framed and rendered, but the lower part of the front wall is faced with mid-19th century gault brick, and the upper part is covered with 20th century common brick. The roof is steeply pitched and thatched, with a small ridge and end stacks. The cottage has a single range and a three-room plan. It is one storey high with an attic. There are three gabled dormers with horizontal sliding sash windows containing small panes. The front has three flush frame hung sash windows of sixteen panes each, likely dating from the early to mid-19th century, and a contemporary reeded doorcase with corner boss enrichments. Original plans are held at the Cambridge Record Office.
