Description

Stayesmore Manor is an 18th-century house that was extended and remodeled in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with the east elevation being stuccoed in the 19th century. The building features old clay tile roofs and has a large three-bay front wing with a triple gabled rear wing. The front block includes gable end red brick chimney stacks and is two storeys high with attics.

On the east elevation, there are two gabled attic dormers with 2-light casement windows. The first floor has three sash windows, two of which are 3-light, while the central window is a 1-light. The ground floor features two canted bay windows with sash windows, both topped with flat roofs and moulded cornices. There is also a central porch that is flat-roofed and has a moulded cornice.

The rear west elevation has seen less alteration but received new windows in the 19th century. The rear wings are also two storeys high, with the first floor displaying five semi-circular headed sash windows that have geometric glazing bars, all set in red brick surrounds.

At the north end of the property, there is an adjoining outbuilding made of limestone rubble with an old clay tile roof. The south end has been altered in the 19th century to become part of the house. The outbuilding is one storey with attics, and its east elevation is stuccoed to match the main house. It features two gabled dormers at eaves level with sash windows, and the ground floor has two sash windows.
