Description
The Baptist Meeting House, dating to 1760 with 19th-century extensions, is constructed of coursed limestone rubble. It has a hipped roof covered with old clay tiles, the rear section being divided into three parallel gables. The eastern elevation features a first floor with two central fixed windows with glazing bars, flanked by two-light casement windows and single-light casements. The ground floor has two large fixed windows with glazing bars, flanked by late 19th-century yellow brick porches with slate gabled roofs, and further tall, narrow fixed windows with glazing bars to the sides. A 19th-century extension adjoins the north end at a right angle, also constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a Welsh slate roof. This extension’s eastern gable has three sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor and two matching windows on the ground floor, as well as a central doorway with a six-pane rectangular fanlight.
